My Dream Kitchen has Colourful Appliances

As I was looking for colour inspirations for my next project I came across a company called Big Chill, a Colorado based kitchen appliance supplier. I got a bit sidetracked with their great selection of kitchen appliances and decided to put together a style board describing my dream kitchen. It just happens so that a bright coloured stove is an object of my desire, so this task came easy to me.
Kitchen is considered the heart of the home, a place where families gather at the end of the day to prepare meals, and where good parties take place. Nice kitchens, and appliances especially, are also known to significantly increase the value of your property.

When it comes to appliances Big Chill offers a great range of colours to choose from, up to 200 custom colours to be exact. I selected this French Blue gas stove from their Pro line to build my dream kitchen around.

Since I want the stove to be the attention grabber and conversation starter in the space, all other appliances would be in the stainless steal finish. Luckily when you shop at Big Chill, mixing and matching products within the same line is not a problem.

When working with bold colours and accessories it is important for the backdrop to stay neutral. In order to support that my cabinets would would have simple lines and be painted in tope, which would provide a warm surroundings for the stainless steal and blue finish in the appliances. Open shelving would contribute to the feel of airiness in the space and provide the opportunity to display some of my more attractive dishes and a vintage farmhouse apron sink would make a great contrast to the modern lines found in the stove and fridge.

Layering is a concept that many are familiar with and associate with the world of fashion but it is equally important when it comes to decorating, as it offers softness and adds a layer of complexity to the space. Adding fabrics in form of tea towels, curtains, runners and napkins will take care of that. For my kitchen I would look for linens that are inclusive of the main palette but also introduce complementary colour choices that would help with the selection of other accessories.

A long weathered wood farmhouse table would be a great place to gather around with friends and family and celebrate life's little victories. What draws me to this type of table is the rawness of the finish and the fact that every new stain or mark would build on the memories that happen around it.

So this is what my dream kitchen looks like. Great thing about dreams is that they can come true. Not everything has to happen at once, spread it out over a period of time. Not only will it help you stay on budget but you will always have something to look forward to.
